Newport is a top ten economic growth city

The ongoing success of Newport’s regeneration has seen it rise to the rank of seventh in the UK in a table showing the predicted economic strength of cities in the UK.

The latest Regional Planning report by Experian Business Strategies, the global economic forecasting group, puts Newport among the likes of Inner London, Reading and

Edinburgh, at the very top of the list of towns and cities set to show robust economic growth between now and 2020.Also in the top ten are Cardiff and Bristol, which makes Newport an even more significant location for investment as it sits midway between the two – within 10 miles of the fifth highest (Cardiff) and 20 miles of the tenth highest (

Bristol).In ranking Newport in seventh place, the city is placed above Outer London, Birmingham, Nottingham and Leeds.

ED: About time Newport was redeveloped, it was slowly declining into a city of decayed buildings. try sorting out the clarence place area of the City as well.

Wind turbine projects in West Midlands and Wales

Severn Trent Water has identified a number of potential sites suitable for a £40 million large scale wind turbine energy generation project, across Wales, the East Midlands and the Humber Estuary.

The company are seeking expressions of interest from firms that can offer detailed planning, design and costing solutions for the project. 

Severn Trent Water are also looking for companies that are able to supply, install, commission and maintain and operate the selected turbines. 

The deadline for responses is October 29.
